In Medellín, the second-largest city in Colombia with 2.5 million inhabitants, we have implemented a large-scale urban relamping project. The intervention involved replacing traditional lighting fixtures with LED solutions, significantly improving urban lighting and energy efficiency while ensuring substantial economic savings for the entire community.

Solution
The Medellín relamping project included the installation of 15,000 MaXimo luminaires, a versatile and efficient solution suited to various urban lighting needs, such as streets, squares, pedestrian areas, parks, and bike lanes. In addition to improving energy efficiency and reducing operational costs, these new fixtures have positively impacted the city's safety. Medellín, a city with a past marked by high crime rates, has benefited from the increased visibility offered by LED solutions, which help reduce the number of accidents, vandalism, and crimes in the illuminated areas.
